Finnish progressively rocking project Mastord
Mastord is a Finnish progressively rocking project. Mastords debut album, Trail Of Consequence, was released on Valentine´s Day 2019 and it got some really good attention and reviews without any true promotion or even a single release. The album was made for the love of music and joy, and this new album, To Whom Bow Even The Trees, is made with the same principle and approach as was the first one.
Kari Syvelä wrote the music, lyrics and played guitars and keyboards at his home studio, Markku Pihlaja did vocals at his studio and Pasi Hakuli played his bass parts at his own. Drum artist Toni Paananen visited @ Teemu Aalto Music Productions in the middle of March 2020 for drum recording session. Teemu sang his backing vocals during the mixing process at the end of March and slowly the album was getting its sounds and shapes. Right from the first versions it was sounding just the way we wanted it to sound. Early autumn the album was mixed and mastered by Teemu Aalto @ Teemu Aalto Music Productions!
This album is quite a mixture of many different styles and moods and it is a lot wider ensemble than the first album. It is difficult to fully set this album to any genre. It has it´s proggish feel, there is some metal, but there is also some very poppish and bluezy feelings mixed all together. This album was written with “come what may” attitude and it can be heard by very surprising arranges and untraditional twists and turns.
